Holistic Immunity Depends On These Three Commonly Ignored Factors: Breathing, Mind, and Bone Nourishment

What is Holistic Immunity?

Is it being able to fight off a bacteria or virus? Is it preventing cancer? Is it keeping your mind free of messy, unhelpful thoughts?

Further, is “immunity” a noun? ie., being in a state that resists, neutralizes, and prevents illness? Or is “immunity” a verb?

At Sarvaa, we believe it is actually a verb. Immunity is a way of life, a way of being, an action that you are taking through your habits of diet and lifestyle. Immunity, just like you, is alive. Like a song or a dance, with little focus on the beginning or end, and so much of it on the whole thing.

When seeking to cultivate Holistic Immunity into your life, treat it like a breathing exercise - just is lasts all day and night. A long daylight of an inhale, and a slow moon-setting exhale.

During this inhale we have the nourishment of Immunity, during the exhale we have detoxification. And connecting the whole breath we have the circulation between the two. Thus, we can think of Holistic Immunity as developing immunity to all elements of dis-ease, and it can be looked at in three parts:

The most important nutrient comes from the quality of our breath.

You’re aware of how long you’d last without breathing, but are you aware of how long you’ll last poorly breathing? Relearning how to breath slowly, through the nose and deep into the abdomen will regulate our mood, nourish our blood, and tone our nervous system.

If our mood is balanced, our mind is clear, out blood is rich, and our nervous system is toned then we will not only feel alive and full of purpose, we will be ready to adjust to challenges in our day, navigating them in such a way that keeps us on the path of healing.

But, this is not an invitation to make a challenge of things. Make breathing your home. Fall in love with it. The slower you breathe, the easier and more effective it gets. I’d suggest practicing either: 1. Box breathing where you breath equals lengths of time while you - Inhale, Hold, Exhale, Hold. Or 2. Corner breathing where focus on expanding the length of time and energy felt in between the inhale and exhale, with the goal being to dissolve any discernibility between and inhale and an exhale to create one long rolling breath where “inhales” and “exhales” dissolve away. Both practices should be effortless, dissolving tension (particularly in the head, chest, and hips). If you’re building tension anywhere, you’re over efforting ;) .

The second most important nutrient comes from the quality of our thoughts.

Poison in the mind creates poison in the body. Simple as that.

Remember, you are as much a receiver as you are a producer of thought. You’ve got a giant antenna in between your ears that collects dust just like your parents old radio. A polished mind produces clear thoughts. Clear thoughts send clear signals to your body, which your body receives like any other nutrient.

And remember, the body doesn’t know the difference between facetious or literal thoughts. Just like a dream, or an intense movie, your body experiences what is sent to it from our mind as reality.

Polishing the mind is easy. Again, don’t make a challenge of things (talking to myself here).

A few easy ways to clean the mind are:

  1. Practice the above breathing techniques thoroughly until they become the only way you breathe,
  2. Think in complete sentences and imagery. You’ll be amazed how this will transform your mind and body. Just like you wouldn’t speak in fragments (like our thoughts tend to appear as), or drive your car only opening your eyes to witness the road in incomplete frames, you’re better off completing the sentence or image moving through your mind.

Just like the breathe, thoughts have a rhythm and cadence. Get with it, and the circulation of thoughts will tone clarify.

Finally, remember that technology, wifi signals, electromagnetic fields, social media, doom scrolling news or cute puppy videos all disrupt the rhythm of the mind, filling it with strong, unresolved emotions and fragmented, incomplete thoughts. Avoid it as much as is possible.

The third most important nutrient is the quality of your diet.

Our Immunity is weaved into the quality of the nutrients we provide our bones via our microbiome. Macro and Micronutrients presented to us through our gut move on to become both the food for our microbiome and the raw material of our bone cells and immune cells.

Immune cells are made mostly in the bone marrow and moved into the glandular system to mature to move on and do their job protecting us from bacteria, viruses, molds, and rogue cells.

When you provide yourself with high quality protein, antioxidants, and prebiotic fiber your ensuring you’re building a healthy immune system. The best foods to support bone health are full of vitamins and minerals such as calcium, vitamin D, Magnesium and Phosphorus. Also crucial to bone health are healthy fats found in fatty fish like salmon, avocado, and coconut.

We offer a variety of bone supporting formulas including Supragreens, Superfruit C, & Sita Protein.
